Former Manager Discusses Why The Undertaker Is The Greatest Character In WWE History

During an episode of his Something to Wrestle With podcast, WWE executive Bruce Prichard delved into the legacy of The Undertaker, one of the most iconic characters in WWE history, and reflected on the profound impact of the character’s debut at the 1990 Survivor Series PPV.

The debut in general was such a rush. The feeling walking out with Undertaker the first time, the ice cold hush that came over the audience… and they believed it without him ever doing a thing. He looked straight out of Central Casting.

The Undertaker was revealed as a “mystery partner” on Ted DiBiase’s Million $ Team captivated the audience, solidifying his status as a force to be reckoned with in the WWE landscape. Prichard also shed light on his involvement in crafting the character, expressing his enjoyment in building something entirely new and seeing a human being fully embrace the character.

I enjoyed working with The Undertaker from the aspect of getting to build something brand new and taking a character out of my head that actually had a human being that was willing and was into it and who threw himself into that character so much.

In offering high praise for The Undertaker, Prichard emphasised the character’s unparalleled investment and dedication, attributing the character’s status as the greatest in WWE history to the man himself, underscoring the Undertaker’s lasting impact and influence in WWE.

He was just so invested and that’s why he’s the greatest character of all time, not because of me, but because of him.

While Prichard’s persona as Brother Love was initially the manager of The Undertaker in the character’s early months in WWE, the subsequent addition of Paul Bearer marked a pivotal shift in the character’s trajectory, solidifying The Undertaker’s place in WWE history and cementing his status as an enduring and iconic figure in the world of professional wrestling.
