Miss Piggy

Miss Piggy was originally due to come to the aide of a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

The Muppets were guest stars on the October 31st, 2011 edition of Monday Night Raw. Appearances by the cast included Kermit the Frog having a paper bag placed on his head by Cody Rhodes and Sheamus telling Beaker he couldn’t make it to the family reunion.

In one of the backstage segments, Hornswoggle is seen kissing Miss Piggy, with the self-proclaimed original Diva delivering a vicious pork chop in retaliation. In a recent interview with Hornswoggle, the former storyline son of Vince McMahon has revealed that the segment was originally planned to go differently.

Speaking with Metro, Hornswoggle revealed how Miss Piggy was going to give him the gist of the speech:

“[It was] supposed to be the Miss Piggy thing, it was supposed to happen that day! The original pitch was when Miss Piggy hit me, I was supposed to then be able to talk. It didn’t happen and I was bummed out but I was like, you know what? I still get to work with The Muppets on Raw, this is incredible.”

Hornswoggle did not speak in his first appearances in the company. The former Cruiserweight Champion was instead granted the ability of speech following a Christmas miracle after visiting Santa in a backstage segment later in the year.

Hornswoggle has interacted with many celebrities while in WWE, he has revealed that The Muppets were the famous faces that made him the most nervous:

“I was shaking all day, just physically shaking. Man, I don’t care – I loved meeting Ozzy Osbourne, I loved meeting Shaq, I loved meeting these celebrities, Bob Barker, all that. But this is my one. This is a bucket list. So, when they came to life in front of me it was just this – I froze, I literally froze. They were hospitable to me and everything. I brought two big posters for them to sign, and they signed not just once, but they signed as every one of the characters they portray on these posters.”

Speaking elsewhere, Hornswoggle also recalled upsetting The Undertaker by falling asleep during a match.
