Former World Champion Accuses WWE Of Never Giving Any Chances: “Dumbed Me Down”

Former WWE Star Claims There Were Plans To Bring Back ECW Tag Titles & Be Crowned Champion

Former world champion slams WWE for not letting her prove herself.

Wrestling fans have seen several entertaining and unique characters from WWE alone throughout the years. Among those was Jillian Hall, who had a tone-deaf, aspiring popstar character. As a heel, she played her role well and got many of her rivals over one way or the other. However, she thinks she has been given a proper opportunity to truly showcase who she is as a wrestler.

In a conversation on Ring the Belle, Jillian Hall recalled her feud and matches with Gail Kim, noting that many fans were quite shocked about it since she wrestled well. The former Divas Champion noted that if WWE had given them better opportunities and a chance to truly showcase themselves, they would’ve done amazing things.

I love Gail. And I love wrestling Gail. She and I could have done some amazing things together had we been given the opportunity. But unfortunately, we were given six minutes on Superstars here and there. And you know, it’s sad. They didn’t even put it on RAW. It’s like no shade to Superstars or anything. It’s just that wasn’t the main show. They just didn’t give me a chance. You know?”

The former WWE champion also thinks her in-ring abilities were underrated and that the Stamford-based promotion dumbed her down, stating that she was a different kind of performer in the independent scene.

[Do you feel like your in-ring abilities were underrated?] Oh, for sure. They dumbed me down when I got to the main roster. If you watch before WWE, you would see more of a wrestler than you saw in WWE.”

Jillian Hall Had To Keep Repeating The Basics In WWE

In the same conversation, Jillian Hall continued that she was dumbed down and got into a routine of only doing the basics. However, wrestling Gail Kim gave the former Divas Champion a chance to do other things.

I was dumbed down a lot. I had to do basics constantly, and that’s what I ended up getting into, this cycle of basic stuff, basic stuff, basic stuff. That’s where I became in this comfort zone, and I just never got out of it, and that’s why I mentioned Gail Kim. Wrestling her, we had some good matches, and I got to do some other stuff, but it was a rare moment. It’s kind of sad, actually.”
