A former champion in AEW turned to the dark side on Dynamite, complete with a brand new look.
In the wake of Jurassic Express losing the AEW Tag Team Championships to the Young Bucks at Road Rager, Christian Cage launched a vicious attack on Jungle Boy and even shouted an expletive-laden tirade at his family members ringside. However, Jungle Boy’s partner Luchasaurus was exempt from the attack, leading to questions about where the dinosaur’s loyalties might lie, especially after Cage cut a scathing promo on Jungle Boy last week.
Those questions were answered at Blood & Guts, where Christian Cage once again addressed Jungle Boy, again brining up his dead father Luke Perry and saying he wished the rest of the family had followed suit – the whole family, that is, except for Jungle Boy’s mother, who he wishes would call him.
This led Cage to say that he’d asked for a match on Dynamite, but that the match wasn’t for him, which brought out Luchasaurus to the shock of the crowd. Not only did the former champion’s appearance confirm he was in league with Christian and had also turned heel, he also appeared sporting a new black dinosaur mask instead of his signature green one.
.@Christian4Peeps has demanded a match – but not for him! He's tasked @Luchasaurus to take care of business and @KingSerpentico is in the unfortunate position across the ring from him! Watch #AEWDynamite#BloodAndGuts LIVE on @TBSNetwork right now! pic.twitter.com/vzf5MXYIKL

Serpentico was the unfortunate opponent waiting in the ring, and Luchasaurus made quick work of the fellow reptile. Christian Cage looked on with glee as Luchasaurus finished his opponent, forcing him to tap out.

Jungle Boy hasn’t been seen since the vicious attack at Road Rager, and it’s safe to say he’ll be devastated by this recent turn of events. As commentary pointed out, he and his now former tag team partner have been friends since they were children.
Elsewhere on Blood and Guts, Anthony Bowens stood up from his wheelchair for the first time since his injury, and Billy Gunn teased that there may be tension between him and his sons as he sided with the Acclaimed after their match.
