Former Champion Qualifies For Money In The Bank

Money in the Bank

One WWE Superstar is looking to reclaim their championship after qualifying for Money in the Bank!

Prior to Monday Night Raw, it was announced that Becky Lynch and Asuka would once again go one on one, this time for a chance to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match. However, it seemed plans had changed when Bianca Belair announced that Rhea Ripley was not medically cleared to compete at Money in the Bank, and that she needed a new number one contender. After a fatal five way match, Carmella emerged victorious and will have a chance to win the Raw Women’s Championship at the Premium Live Event.

Enraged, Becky Lynch confronted Adam Pearce backstage about how unfair it was that she wasn’t champion. Earlier in the show, she’d made mention of the fact that she still hasn’t received a one-on-one rematch since being defeated by Bianca Belair. Pearce then announced that the original Money in the Bank qualification match between Lynch and Asuka would take place tonight after all, a decision that wasn’t well-received by Lynch.

Despite her best efforts to qualify for a spot in the ladder match and a chance at regaining her Raw Women’s Championship, Asuka was victorious in the end and celebrated in front of the Raw crowd as an incensed Becky Lynch wreaked havoc on the announce table in protest.

Asuka joins Lacey Evans, Raquel Rodriguez, Alexa Bliss, and Liv Morgan as part of the ladder match. Two participants are yet to be determined, so it remains to be seen if Becky Lynch will get another opportunity before the Premium Live Event on July 2nd.

Elsewhere on Monday Night Raw, Elias returned to the red brand and reunited with his brother Ezekiel, much to the chagrin of Kevin Owens, who still refused to believe the brothers aren’t the same person despite seeing them appear side by side.

Vince McMahon also made his presence known on Raw, his second television appearance since stepping down as WWE CEO. He appeared before the Lincoln, NE audience to hype up the return of John Cena next week, 20 years to the day that the former WWE Champion debuted on SmackDown.
