Former £35,000,000 Arsenal Forward Compared To WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T By Teammates

Alex Iwobi and the Arsenal squad celebrate a goal in the Champions League.

Former Arsenal forward and current Everton star Alex Iwobi has hilariously revealed that teammate James Garner has compared his playing style to that of WWE Hall of Famer, and five time World Champion, Booker T.

Speaking during an appearance on the ‘Filthy @ Five’ podcast, Nigeria international and Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi was asked by internet sensation, and known wrestling fanatic, Specs Gonzalez if anyone in Premier League locker rooms listened to WWE themes before matches to get hyped up.

Iwobi would respond in hilarious fashion, revealing that Everton teammate, and former Manchester United starlet, James Garner has compared his playing style to Booker T on more than one occasion.

SG: “Did you or any of the players you played with, bring wrestling into the changing room?”

AI: “James Garner says I play like Booker T sometimes…bro, I don’t get it.”

TS: “I get it you know, It’s the way he [Iwobi] spins, y’know.”

AI: “Yeah, he tries to say that as banter…he calls me that as banter.”

Former Arsenal Star Alex Iwobi Saves Everton From Disastrous Season

Alex Iwobi was a crucial part of Everton’s recovery under Sean Dyche following a disastrous spell under current Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and was key in Everton avoiding relegation.

During his time at Arsenal, Iwobi would make 100 appearances netting 11 times and winning the hearts of the Emirates faithful prior to his £35,000,000 move to Everton in August 2019.

Arsenal would use the Iwobi funds well to begin putting together a title challenging team that would fall just short of the Premier League title in 2023, finishing a whopping 24 points above local rivals Tottenham and a ridiculous 40 above fellow London club Chelsea, despite the latter signing half of the footballers in the world following Todd Boehly’s takeover of the club in 2022.
