A former AEW Women’s Champion is not a fan of her debut match.
Leaving WWE in 2022, Saraya, aka Paige, made her All Elite Wrestling debut at Grand Slam on 21st September 2022. A part of Tony Khan’s promotion for almost three years now, she enjoyed a reign as the promotion’s women’s champion as well.
However, while she first appeared at Grand Slam, her debut match was against Britt Baker on Full Gear 2022. Wrestling for the first time in nearly five years, the match received a lot of mixed reviews from the fans and critics. Recently, MuscleManMalcolm, in a new interview, Saraya claimed how she wishes to run back that match.
“You know, it was my first match back in like five years. I hadn’t really done enough training in my opinion, like Britt had to carry me big time. I was nervous, my wind wasn’t perfect yet. That’s one thing I wish I could go back and do again for sure, maybe we can run it back one more time. Without Britt — I’m just so thankful for her because she was patient with me, she helped me, she talked to me throughout the whole thing. I felt like a deer in headlights.”

Saraya was last wrestling on the October 8th episode of Dynamite, and is now allegedly parted ways with the Jacksonville-based promotion. Whereas Britt Baker last wrestled in November 2024.
Former AEW Champion Saraya Discusses Her In-Ring Return Concerns
During a recent interview with Joe Vulpis of the Lightweights Podcast, Saraya opened up about her current ventures and when she plans to return to the ring.
“Yeah. I mean, I feel like at this age and time, there isn’t really a spot for me right now. I feel Iike everybody’s got their own thing. Eventually…I love wrestling, I will be back at work at some point. But right now, it’s good. They don’t need me. They don’t need me.”
In other news: Saraya is confused about her place in WWE.
