The latest former AEW star has made their presence felt on WWE TV.
The main event of the May 28th episode of NXT saw NXT Champion Trick Williams team with Je’Von Evans to defeat Gallus in a tag team match in the main event. Following the victory, Lash Legend joined Williams in the ring and asked him if he was responsible for the attacks on Noam Dar and Oro Mensah that occurred earlier in the night.
Just as Williams was about to explain himself the lights went out in the arena. When the lights came back on the crowd gasped in shock as Ethan Page attacked Williams from behind to close out a newsworthy episode. The AEW star’s departure was confirmed back in early May when he was removed from the roster page. A follow-up report noted that he was looking to leave as far back as February and that the exit was a formality.
Fightful Select has provided more information on Page’s debut appearance in the company, with it being reported that Page’s debut was a closely guarded secret as he was not at rehearsals or spotted backstage ahead of time. In regards to the nature of the signing, Fightful adds that Page’s deal was “finalized over the last week” and the former AEW star had a secretive WWE Performance Center visit prior to his debut.

Beginning with Cody Rhodes’ monumental return in 2022 and Jade Cargill’s signing in September 2023 that have led to both becoming champions on the main roster, multiple former AEW stars have since made their surprise debuts on the NXT roster including Lexis King [Brian Pillman Jr.] and Shawn Spears.
Also on the show, Jordynne Grace made her surprise return to WWE.
