Former AEW Star Seen At The WWE Performance Center

Tony Khan AEW Roster

The times are a-changing for one former AEW star and that change may be under WWE.

According to Dave Meltzer, the new free agent Brian Pillman Jr. was seen training at the WWE Performance Center on Thursday. Pillman’s exit from AEW was made officially known this week after spending nearly three years with the promotion. Jim Ross made mention of Pillman on “Grilling JR,” stating that he believes that the young star will find great success in the business.

The second-generation star had his share of memorable moments in AEW, including a short on-air feud with MJF and a strong tag team presence with Griff Garrison and Julia Hart as the Varsity Blonds. On the independent wrestling scene, he would team with former AEW colleague Brock Anderson and the two tagged with one another under the Four Horsemen name to face Ricky Morton and Kerry Morton at Ric Flair’s Last Match.

Former AEW Star Brian Pillman Jr. Could Make An Impact In WWE

Although still early in his pro wrestling career, Pillman Jr. has had his share of experience in the industry. He really started cooking under the banner of Major League Wrestling as he teamed with Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Teddy Hart as a member of The New Hart Foundation. It wasn’t long after a near two-year run when Pillman became apart of AEW.

Pillman was trained at Lance Storm’s Storm Academy up in Calgary, but also learned under Rip Rogers. Pillman Jr. has adopted some of his late great father’s look and mannerisms and takes any moment he can to honor his dad’s legacy both in the ring and on the football field. His dad notoriously played up his own free agency while in-between promotions at WCW and WWE.
