One former AEW star posted an emotional statement following his release on April 1st.
Unfortunately not part of an April Fool’s joke, on the evening of April 1st, news broke that multiple AEW talent cuts were being made. Included in the list of names was Anthony Henry, who first debuted in All Elite Wrestling back in 2021.
Alongside tag team partner JD Drake, Henry primarily performed as part of The Workhorsemen in All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor. He is currently on the sidelines with a broken jaw, and taking to social media after receiving news of his release, he admitted that he’s not sure he wants to return to the world of wrestling. He thanked fans for their support, writing:
The amount of support I am receiving during this very difficult time is amazing, and I appreciate all of it.
I don’t know what is next for me. I don’t know if wrestling is something I still want to pursue. I am devastated.
Regardless, I am always a #workhorsemen
