Former AEW and current TNA star Mike Santana appeared at NXT Battleground. He was interviewed backstage by Sarah Schreiber. The star stated that he was there to watch the TNA World Title match between Joe Hendry and Trick Williams unfold.
The star was with AEW from 2019 to 2024 and was part of the Proud and Powerful alongside Ortiz. They were also part of the Inner Circle faction in All Elite Wrestling. Santana left the promotion in March 2024 after his profile was removed from the website.
Following his appearance at NXT Battleground, Mike Santana was confronted by Charlie Dempsey. The No Quarter Catch Crew member stated that he was tired of too many outsiders being present in NXT and WWE. They were then interrupted by Dempsey’s stablemate Travion Heights, who wanted a match against the former AEW star.
