Former AEW Women’s Champion Saraya has looked back on her time in the promotion and has admitted that she did not give it her all on the comeback run.
Much like Bryan Danielson and Adam Copeland, the British star was given another opportunity to retire on her own terms as she was cleared to compete shortly after signing with the promotion in 2022. Returning at Full Gear that year, the former Women’s Champion competed in 27 matches before announcing her departure in March 2025.
As Saraya has not announced that she is done with wrestling, many are expecting to see the former Women’s Champion get back in the ring at some point, either in WWE or potentially an AEW return. However, when discussing the possibility with MuscleManMalcolm, the British star admitted that she needs time away to relearn, adding that she was not pleased with her performances over the past couple of years:
“If I do wrestle again, I’m gonna take this year to step outside of it. I will be going to Natty’s [Natalya Neidhart’s] training school getting some reps under me so then when I do come back, I’m back to being how I wrestled before because I felt like I wasn’t giving it my entire all these past couple of years.”
“I know that I was frustrated with myself. I know I could be better than that. So I’m gonna go back and, like, relearn my life again.”
Former AEW Star Saraya Addresses WWE Return Rumours
As previously mentioned, there have been strong rumours that the former Paige could make her return to WWE at some point in the future for one final run. However, in a previous interview, the former AEW star denied that talks with WWE had taken place.
