A former AEW Champion who has been out with injury for a number of months could be making their return at the next taping.
Last seen in action back in April in a match against Jon Moxley, Powerhouse Hobbs suffered a severe knee injury that required surgery. However, in a more positive update, the former TNT Champion stated that he had been cleared to compete and is waiting for that all to return:
“Ruptured my patellar tendon. A pretty gruesome injury. Me being me, I’ve been cleared. Healed up pretty fast. Got that Wolverine serum in me a little bit. I’m cleared. I’m back. It’s already been put out in the internet world that I’m cleared. Time to pick up where I left off,”
According to a new update, the return may take place as soon as the October 23rd episode of Dynamite. As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Hobbs has been spotted in Salt Lake City, where the next episode of the show will take place. It should be noted that Hobbs has been backstage for a number of AEW and ROH events in the past few weeks so there is no guarantee that a return will be happening on the show.

While the promotion has seen a number of high-profile appearances in recent weeks with the returns of Adam Cole and MJF along with the debuts of MVP and Shelton Benjamin, former Women’s Champion Toni Storm gave an interesting update shortly after her CMLL match and teased that she may be considering leaving AEW.
