Former AEW Champion Officially A Free Agent

Penta El Zero Miedo, a former AEW World Tag Team Champion and one-half of the Lucha Brothers, has officially parted ways with All Elite Wrestling after a five-year tenure.

AEW confirmed Penta’s departure by removing him from the roster page, marking the end of a celebrated run. Penta’s exit, while now official, has been anticipated for months. His AEW contract expired last week, and rumours of his departure have circulated since the summer. WWE is widely expected to be Penta’s next destination, as the company has long expressed interest in both him and his brother, Rey Fenix. However, WWE will have to wait to pursue Fenix, who remains under an AEW contract until at least mid-2025.

The Lucha Brothers were reportedly set to capture the World Trios Championships alongside Pac at All In Wembley in August. However, plans were altered after reports surfaced that the duo informed the company of their intent to leave upon their contracts’ expiration. Penta’s final match for the company took place in July 2024, when he and Fenix defeated Private Party on an episode of Rampage.
