Unfortunately, another AEW star appears to be side-lined with injury until further notice.
As the company builds to its biggest show of the year in August with All In, multiple former champions appear to be in doubt for the show due to major injuries sustained. In an update on social media, former Women’s Champion Riho uploaded an image of her arm in a sling, stating that it had been fractured.
The former Women’s Champion returned to action on the July 6th episode of Collision with a victory over Lady Frost in what was her first match back since March. It is unknown how long Riho will be out of action for as a result of the injury.
Riho was the first-ever Women’s Champion following a victory over Nyla Rose on the October 2, 2019 episode of Dynamite in a match to crown the inaugural champion, holding the title for 133 days before losing the championship to Rose on Dynamite.
Multiple AEW Stars Out Of Action
Many top stars in the promotion are currently dealing with serious injuries and will not be present at the Wembley Stadium show. Back at Double or Nothing, Adam Copeland suffered a broken tibia after diving off the top of the steel cage and will miss the rest of the year. Also, Dax Harwood of FTR revealed that he is suffering from a major haematoma and will be taking time away to recover.
Additionally, former Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter has been out of action for over a year and no further updates have been provided as to when fans can expect a return.
Everyone at Inside The Ropes wishes Riho a full and speedy recovery.
