Former WWE Superstar Chic Donovan has made a remarkable return to the ring aged 76.
The veteran hadn’t wrestled since April 2021 but recently dusted off his boots one more time.
Donovan is far from the first wrestler to compete in their seventies with the likes of Ric Flair, Terry Funk, Jerry Lawler, Lou Thez, and the Fabulous Moolah all stepping inside the ropes after their 70th birthday.
The veteran’s grandson Bryce recently shared a photo of the pair celebrating his return to the ring. On May 13th, Donovan lost out to JGeorge at Create-A-Pro Homecoming.
So proud of my Grandfather still getting it done at age 76
When I was a small child listening to his stories about wrestling Jerry Lawler in AWA, he would look at me and say “I know one day you’ll grow up to become Create A Pro Champion.”
He was right!

Chic Donovan Wrestled British Bulldog And Others In Two WWE Stints
Donovan made his wrestling debut back in 1977 and clashed with the likes of Jerry Lawler and Tommy Rich, finding success in the American Wrestling Association (AWA). He later appeared for the CWA before moving to the then-WWF in 1987 where he was used as an enhancement talent, losing to the likes of the Ultimate Warrior and Ricky Steamboat.
The veteran performed the same role in WCW from 1992 to 1995, wrestling stars such as Sting.
Donovan made a very brief return to the WWF in 1995 to take on the British Bulldog before retiring later that year. However, he got back in the ring 10 years later and has continued to make wrestling appearances ever since.
