Fans tuning in to this Friday’s AEW Rampage may receive a blast from the past, with a forgotten name from the mid-2000s making an appearance on the show.
This week’s Rampage was recorded on Wednesday (November 30th) following AEW Dynamite and will air Friday night (December 2nd). The main event of this week’s show will see Darby Allin take on Cole Karter in singles action.
The opening contest features Orange Cassidy defending his AEW All-Atlantic Championship against QT Marshall in a Lumberjack match. Eagle-eyed viewers will likely spot a former WWE star as one of the lumberjacks at ringside during the bout.
Former WWE Star Makes Surprise Appearance On AEW Rampage
Multiple AEW mid-carders surrounded the ring during the All-Atlantic Championship contest, but one face fans will likely be shocked to see is former WWE star Kevin Thorn.
Thorn appeared for WWE in 2004 as Mordecai but is more remembered for his run on WWE’s relaunch of ECW on Sci-Fi in the mid-2000s as the vampire, Kevin Thorn.
The 45-year-old hyped his upcoming debut in AEW on social media, tweeting:
“So I did a Thing last night, I Hear you can watch it Friday Night on @aewontv! Huge Thanks for having me @aew. This life I live is blessed beyond belief, next stop @blizzardbrawl this weekend to beat up @mikecurkov!!!”
Since 2020, Thorn (real name Kevin Fertig) has been working as a realtor in the Indianapolis, Indiana metro area.
Elsewhere on AEW Rampage, Saraya sits down for an interview with Renee Paquette to discuss her recent return to the ring at AEW Full Gear, where she defeated Britt Baker in her first wrestling match in five years.
