Two more former NXT stars have made their way back to WWE’s developmental brand in a bid to relaunch their careers.
On the June 13th episode of the show, Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza made a shock appearance, attacking Scrypts and Axiom after they successfully defeated Dabba Kato in a Handicap Match. Later in the show, they were seen watching the action from a platform, before cutting a promo declaring that they were there to be part of the tag team division.
Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza, who have competed separately in NXT previously, have only wrestled three times on WWE television in 2023 with two of those appearances coming in Battle Royals.
The two Mexican stars began teaming together in 2021 and were moved to SmackDown as part of the Draft. Competing as Los Lotharios, the duo was featured briefly before sliding down the card and disappearing from view. Despite moving to Raw as part of the 2023 Draft, their fortunes haven’t changed.
Multiple Main Roster Stars Returning To NXT
Carrillo and Garza are far from the only main roster stars who have appeared in NXT in recent weeks with Baron Corbin, Mustafa Ali, Dana Brooke, and even Seth Rollins getting involved on the developmental brand.
On June 13th, Baron Corbin became the number one contender for Carmelo Hayes’ NXT Title, with the match being confirmed for night two of Gold Rush on June 27th. A week earlier on night one, Seth Rollins will put his World Heavyweight Title on the line against Bron Breakker.
