WWE has officially added five rising stars to its active roster following their impactful debuts in recent weeks.
The standout additions include the menacing new faction DarkState, who made their debut at NXT Vengeance Day, disrupting the show in dramatic fashion. The group made an immediate statement by attacking NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom, Josh Briggs, Yoshiki Inamura, and later NXT Champion Oba Femi. Since their surprise arrival, DarkState has continued to dominate NXT programming with a series of calculated assaults.
Now officially recognised on WWE’s roster page, the group consists of Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Saquon Shugars, and Cutler James.
In addition to the faction, another notable name has emerged in singles competition: El Grande Americano, who has also been added to the official WWE roster. The masked luchador made headlines recently by defeating Dragon Lee to capture the Speed Championship, earning his first title in the company.
El Grande Americano’s character is steeped in mystery. The company describes him as “the greatest luchador of all time,” claiming he was once blackballed from the sport by envious rivals before disappearing from the scene. Now, he returns “from the Gulf of America” with the mission of restoring “glory and honor” to the art of lucha libre.
When Did El Grande Americano Capture The WWE Speed Championship?
El Grande Americano captured the WWE Speed Championship on May 5, 2025, which aired on May 7 exclusively on the company’s X account. El Grande Americano defeated Dragon Lee in a near four-minute bout to capture his and Chad Gable’s first singles title in the company.
