In recent weeks and months WWE have made attempts to bolster their women’s roster, re-signing Mia Yim, Candice LeRae, Emma and Tegan Nox to work alongside the likes of Ronda Rousey.
However, not everyone has been overjoyed at the performances of the new arrivals. During an appearance on Smack Talk with Sportkeeda, Dutch Mantell gave his opinion on recent performances from Tegan Nox. The star was released by WWE in November 2021 before making a shock reappearance more than a year later on SmackDown.
Dutch Mantell Makes Strange Claim About Women’s Roster And Ronda Rousey
On the podcast, Mantell stated that Nox wasn’t ready for television, before pitching a slightly odd solution to the problem. He said that if he was in charge he would fire everyone except Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, but then rehire them right away just to prove that he could.
“She is not ready. I don’t know long she has been in developmental; I don’t know what she was doing down there. She is unsure of herself. Now, that could be, I guess, ring rust, but she wasn’t moving smoothly. Kind of like she was hesitating on some of the stuff she did. I saw her arm drags, pathetic! Not very good!
That’s what they’re sending them to Orlando for. If you can’t learn to give a graceful arm drag, something’s wrong with the other person working with you. So, it does look forced. I would fire everybody right now in the girls’ division except Ronda and Baszler. I’d fire everybody, then five minutes later, I’d hired them all back just to show them I could do it.”
Dutch Mantell recently came to the defence of Ronda Rousey after the star was blamed for a high-profile botch during her Survivor Series match with Shotzi. Despite many suggesting otherwise, Mantell claimed that it was actually Shotzi who was at fault for the issues during the match.
