It has been announced that Finn Balor will defend his NXT Championship against Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver: Stand & deliver.
Finn Balor opened the March 17th episode of NXT by declaring that he’s destroyed everyone on the roster and that only Karrion Kross remains.
Kross with Scarlett by his side, said it was a matter of taking back what he never lost, and that at TakeOver he will choke Balor out.
NXT Tag Team Champions Lorcan and Burch then came to the ring to tell Balor that he should in fact be facing Pete Dunne, the best technical wrestler that NXT has ever seen. Scarlett says that she had a premonition of Balor and Kross at TakeOver draped in gold, so challenges the tag team champs to match later in the show on their behalf.

On the previous week’s episode of NXT Finn Balor defended his NXT Championship against Adam Cole. After a typically hard-hitting contest which ended with Kyle O’Reilly emerging from the shadows to distract Cole, Balor emerged victorious. After O’Reilly delivered a vicious post-match beatdown on Cole, Balor regained his composure in the ring, only to be greeted by the man who never lost the NXT Championship, Karrion Kross.
The main event of the show saw Balor and Kross challenge Lorcan and Burch in a match where the champions would eventually retain. Following Balor inadvertently taking out Scarlett, Kross turned on his rival-come-tag partner, enabling Lorcan to hit a spinning uppercut to claim the win. Kross the proceeded to lay out both Balor and Lorcan, standing tall over the champion’s prone body as the show went off the air.
