WWE have officially announced that NXT Champion, Finn Balor, will make his return to NXT next week in order to address the situation surrounding his coveted gold.
Finn Balor has been absent from NXT television since October 4, when he suffered a broken jaw at the hands of Kyle O’Reilly at NXT TakeOver 31.
Following his brutally brilliant championship defence against The Undisputed Era member, Balor underwent surgery at the Orlando Center for Advanced Plastic Surgery to repair his jaw which said to have been broken in two places.
In a nasty little incident, reports state that at least one of the fractures splintered into the star’s tooth which was also extracted. Following the surgery, the Irishman’s jaw had to be wired shut in order to restore bite and aid the healing process.
However, doctors were not finished there. Finn required three plates screwed into his jaw in order to fixate the fracture and give him a fast recovery.
Though Finn Balor has paid the price of his art, WWE stated that he would not be stripped of his championship though we will find out more about this next Wednesday when the champion takes to the microphone for the first time in over a month.
This week, Inside the Ropes reported that Karrion Kross was also on his way to a full recovery after he posted a message to fans on Instagram. With neither man needing to engage in physical activity for a few more weeks, it’s a possibility that we could see the current and former champion set-up their inevitable feud sooner rather than later.
