Despite currently having his hands full on Monday Night Raw, Finn Balor hasn’t forgotten about the controversial finish to his most recent clash with Roman Reigns.
Following a successful second stint in NXT, Finn Balor arrived back on the main roster in July 2021. The former NXT Champion wasted little time in making himself at home on SmackDown, quickly challenging Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
The pair met in the main event of the September 3rd episode of SmackDown before Balor brought back his “Demon” persona for a rematch at Extreme Rules three weeks later.
However, the match ended in chaos and confusion after the top rope snapped with Balor in position to land the Coupe de Grace. With The Demon down and injured, Reigns hit a Spear to score the win.
Speaking on WWE’s El Brunch show, Balor said that he had “unfinished business” with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion after the controversial ending to their most recent bout.
“Well, I think me and Roman Reigns have a lot of unfinished business,” said Balor. “There was a little bit of a questionable finish to our last match at Extreme Rules. When the top rope, mysterious broke in our championship match. So, I feel like there’s definitely a rematch due with myself and Roman. So, hopefully, we’ll get to that, soon after Clash at the Castle.”
Roman Reigns is set to defend his World Championship against Drew McIntyre at Clash At The Castle when WWE hold their first stadium show in the United Kingdom for three decades.
McIntyre’s preparations for the match appear to be far from ideal following reports that he is nursing a back injury. Despite this he is still expected to take on Reigns on September 3rd.
