Finn Balor has addressed the future of his popular alter-ego the ‘Demon’ and if it will ever surface again.
In a recent interview with WWE Deutschland, the first-ever Universal Champion was asked if the WWE Universe will ever see the Demon return. Here’s what the former two-time Intercontinental Champion said:
“You’re hitting me with the hard questions. Yeah, obviously I feel like The Demon definitely has a future but right now. I’m very focused on, you know, The Prince and this current invention of the character and the direction that we’re going, but I’m sure we’ll get back to The Demon at some stage,”
The Demon was a major part of Balor’s act during his first run in NXT where Balor would break out his demonic alter-ego to gain an advantage over his opponents. The move paid dividends and led him to the second-longest NXT Championship reign in the brand’s history.
The alter-ego accompanied Balor to the main roster, allowing him to capture the newly formed WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2016.
The last time Finn Balor appeared in his Demon form was in 2019 at Super Showdown where he defeated former WWE Superstar Andrade.
More recently Balor’s ‘Prince’ persona has been at the forefront. The no-nonsense and take-no-prisoners attitude saw him conquer NXT once again. Last month he returned to SmackDown to get back the title he never lost.
