Finn Balor Lays Down WrestleMania Challenge

Finn Balor

If fans thought the rivalry between Edge and Finn Balor was over after Elimination Chamber they would be very much mistaken.

After creating the Judgment Day at WrestleMania 38, Edge was crudely thrown out of the group in June 2022 after Finn Balor joined the faction. The two sides have been at war ever since, with Balor and Edge meeting in a vicious “I Quit” Match at Extreme Rules in October, as the violence also involved Beth Phoenix.

Edge and Phoenix returned to WWE at the 2023 Royal Rumble and renewed hostilities with Judgment Day. Two days later, the fighting continued on Monday Night Raw with chaos breaking out during the main event and opening segment.

This led to a Mixed Tag Team Match at Elimination Chamber with Edge & Beth Phoenix defeating Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley.

On the following episode of Raw, Balor attacked Edge costing him the United States Title.

However, speaking in a backstage segment on the February 27th episode of Raw, Balor said that the fight is only over when he says it’s over. He then proceeded to challenge Edge to a match at WrestleMania. It has been reported that the pair could meet in a Hell In A Cell match which was originally planned for the Royal Rumble.

Will Finn Balor Bring Back The Demon?

It has been reported that for Balor and Edge’s scrapped match at the Royal Rumble, Finn Balor was set to bring back his demon persona.

It was reported in early February that the match and subsequently Balor’s appearance as ‘The Demon’ was scrapped due to Edge filming a television show in January which meant he wouldn’t be on WWE TV.

There have been suggestions that Balor could appear as The Demon for WrestleMania to face Edge under his persona from The Brood.
