Finn Balor has revealed how he was “deeply hurt” to have been left off a recent major WWE event.
WrestleMania 37 emanated from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida and was the first WWE event to have fans in attendance in over a year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taking place over two nights, the 2021 edition of ‘Mania featured a total of 14 matches involving a plethora of WWE’s biggest stars. However, a notable absentee was Finn Balor, who did not feature at all at the marquee event.
The inaugural WWE Universal Champion recently appeared on The Ringer’s Cheap Heat podcast and spoke of his disappointment of not being included on the biggest show of the year:
“I think last year I wasn’t involved in ‘Mania, and I’ll be honest, that deeply hurt, deeply hurt. The fact that, you know, I show up for every TV, every house show, every overseas tour, you know, every media appearance, and then to be left off two nights of WrestleMania, that hurt”
Despite being the reigning WWE United States Champion at the time, the Bullet Club founder was also left off this year’s ‘Mania card.
The Demon King is one of the most charismatic and popular stars to come out of the UK wrestling scene and, in the same interview, spoke of how he would love to be involved at the upcoming Clash At The Castle show.
“I want to be involved in whatever way I can [at Clash at the Castle]. Obviously to have a singles match would be incredible. Having spent six years of the start of my career in the United Kingdom, to get to go back there and wrestle in a stadium would be really incredible”
Clash At The Castle will be WWE’s first major stadium event to take place in the United Kingdom since SummerSlam 1992. The Premium Live Event takes place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales and will air live on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network internationally.
