February NXT TakeOver Officially Called “Vengeance Day”

The upcoming NXT Takeover on February 14th finally has its official name: ‘Vengeance Day‘. A name first used by WWE back in 2001.

The only match currently official for the Takeover is a Triple Threat NXT Women’s Championship Match between the Champion Io Shirai, Mercedes Martinez and Toni Storm.

The logo (which WWE revealed on it’s NXT account on Twitter) is the same one used at the 2003 WWE PPV of the same name in which there was also a Triple Threat match, as Kurt Angle defeated Brock Lesnar and the Big Show to win the WWE Championship.

This will mark the 9th ‘Vengeance’ PPV, but the first one spearheaded by the NXT brand which is slowly building a reputation for bringing back old iconic WWE events – such as ‘War Games’, ‘In Your House’ and ‘Halftime Heat’.

With only two episodes remaining of Wednesday Night NXT, there’s going to be more match announcements made imminently – a likely candidate is the victors from the Men and Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Quarterfinals which are taking place this week.
