Young Rock is the NBC comedy series based on the life of Dwayne Johnson, from his childhood as the son of Rocky and Ata Johnson to his rise to stardom in WWE as The Rock.
In the past, the series has received mixed reactions to its casting choices of the wrestlers who played a part in The Rock’s life and career. While Becky Lynch was well-received in the role of Cyndi Lauper, Miles Burris’ portrayal of Triple H has been described as being “trash on purpose.”
Fans unhappy with the actors chosen to play The Undertaker and Steve Austin
Now, a new image from the show featuring Young Rock’s versions of Undertaker and Austin has been met with a new wave of criticism.
The Public Enemies Podcast Twitter account posted the picture, saying “NBC and The Rock did Undertaker sooo dirty.”

The replies weren’t any less scathing, with one user saying “Literally nobody on this show looks anything like their real life counterparts”, while another thinks it looks like “SNL doing WWE and you can’t tell me otherwise”.
Other users were making comparisons between this Undertaker and other wrestling stars, including WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash in his Diesel days and NJPW star Jay White. Meanwhile, more than one comment pointed out the resemblance between “Steve Austin” and ECW original, Justin Credible.
“Undertaker” did look a lot like his namesake, although it was the wrestler who used to tour the UK decades ago pretending to be The Deadman.

Outside of the sitcom, there has been much speculation in recent months that Dwayne Johnson is set to return to the ring at WrestleMania 39 to face of with his cousin, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
However, a recent report has cast doubt on the idea, claiming that The Rock has indicated to WWE that he will not be able to get in ring shape in time to appear on The Grandest Stage Of Them All.
