Fans Spot Possible Rey Fenix Tease On WWE SmackDown

Baron Corbin Elaborates On Previous Comments Regarding Rey Fenix AEW Contract Discourse

Rey Fenix is possibly on his way toward WWE.

Over the past one year, rumors and reports have floated around regarding Fenix’s wrestling status. Stuck in a controversial contract agreement with Tony Khan and AEW last year, Fenix was recently released from his position at the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Soon, WrestleVotes on WrestleVotes Radio reported that Rey Fenix was rumored to reunite with his real-life brother Penta, and reform The Lucha Brothers.

Fenix and Penta have wrestled as the Lucha Brothers for several years under multiple promotions such as TNA, AAA, and AEW. Penta made his World Wrestling Entertainment debut on Monday Night Raw on January 13, 2025, after signing with the company following his AEW exit in late 2024.

However, while fans pondered over that situation, a new teaser left the fans shocked.

A mystery teaser greeted the fans on the 14th March episode of SmackDown in Barcelona. Midway through the show, a mystery teaser featuring a luchador aired. The teaser featured a luchador training in the ring, with an orange hue and lighting.

Although no official confirmation regarding it being Fenix was shared, fans online believed it to be Rey Fenix. Several fans on X(Twitter) shared their reaction and anticipation about it being the former AEW International Champion.

We at Inside The Ropes shall update the story as we hear more updates and an official confirmation on it.
