Fans Hijack WWE Raw Following R-Truth’s Release [Video]

R-Truth raps in the WWE ring

After several years of service, R-Truth has finally been let go by WWE.

Yesterday, the wrestling world suffered a shock when the promotion suddenly released former WWE champions R-Truth and Carlito. In two social media posts written by Truth and Carlito and later by Fightful Select, it was revealed that World Wrestling Entertainment decided to let the two stars’ contracts expire and not renew them.

Now, just a few hours later on the 2nd June episode of Raw in Tulsa, Oklahoma, fans broke out in chants expressing their support for Truth. During the opening segment of the night between CM Punk and Sami Zayn, the fans made sure to have their voice heard.

The chants of “We Want Truth” started before the show went on air, and continued during the opening segment, before making their way during the triple threat match for the final spot in the women’s Money in the Bank match.

While Truth’s exit has not yet been verbally or visually discussed on television, Punk and Zayn shared a witty smirk when the chants started during their segment. A part of the promotion for almost two decades, spread between two runs, the former United States Champion was one of the most experienced and popular stars on the roster.

While the official reason behind his exit remains a mystery, the Tulsa crowd made sure to voice their displeasure over the promotion’s decision not to renew the former 24/7 Champion’s contract.

However, R-Truth was not the only unfortunate name on the list. Alongside Truth, Carlito and Sarah Rowe, aka Valhalla, have also been released by the wrestling promotion.

A regular act on television, Truth’s last match was against JC Mateo on the 30th May episode of SmackDown, ahead of which he had again suffered a loss against John Cena.

Triple H Named As The Reason Behind R-Truth And Carlito’s WWE Exit

In a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared his reaction to Carlito and R-Truth’s recent exits. However, he also noted how the picks were Triple H’s decision.

“There’s numbers. They’re looking at the numbers, and they’re looking at how many do we have to cut, or how much money do we have to cut. And those were the picks. Those were the [Paul “Triple H”] Levesque picks, and that’s what it is.”

In other news: WWE tables are now set to feature this popular brand’s logo on them.
