The ‘WWE on Fox’ Twitter account recently put it to fans to select their dream main event for WrestleMania 37.
Fans poured into the replies with a multitude of interesting picks, including an-inter family bout between Roman Reigns and The Rock, a re-run of ‘The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever’ in Edge vs Randy Orton and a resolution to the long rumoured feud between the respective Four Horsewomen stables.
Perhaps the most intriguing pick of all belonged to Montel Vontavious Porter, or MVP, who replied to the tweet directly:
The CHO (Chief Hurt Officer) of The Hurt Business, Bobby Lashley with MVP…
Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman https://t.co/0I4xez4cgf
— MVP (@The305MVP) January 18, 2021
A collision between the two superheavyweights, both of whom have found success in Mixed Martial Arts, has been mooted since Lashley’s WWE return in 2018.
MVP’s tweet comes shortly after Lashley himself reiterated his desire to face Lesnar.
In a tweet promoting his upcoming battle with Riddle on Monday Night RAW, ‘The Dominator’ dismissed ‘The King of Bros’ as a “Brock wannabe” before stating that he’d be willing to face ‘The Beast’ “whenever, wherever”.
Lashley spent more time within the realm of MMA than Lesnar, albeit with comparatively smaller companies such as Strikeforce, Titan FC and more recently, Bellator.
Accumulating a record of fifteen wins and two losses, Lashley was on an eight fight winning streak ahead of his Stamford return.
Lesnar fought in the UFC for all but one of his MMA fights, putting together a record of five wins and three losses, most notably winning the UFC Heavyweight Title from Randy Couture at UFC 91 in 2008.
Talk of WrestleMania has intensified in recent days following the company’s site and date reveal.
