Dax Harwood

Dax Harwood Fires Shot at Vince McMahon “Just Because One Person Held A Monopoly Over Wrestling”

Dax Harwood has never been one to shy away from speaking his mind, for better and for worse.

Now, taking to social media, Harwood has hit back at fans who undervalue tag team wrestling placing the blame firmly on Vince McMahon.

Writing on Twitter, Harwood would comment:

“Over the last few weeks, I’ve seen people tweet, “*insert name* should be in a singles match!” or “why are they wasting *insert name* in a tag team?!”

Yall, tag team wrestling IS a draw, & has been for MANY years. Just because one person held a monopoly over wrestling & didn’t care for tag teams, doesn’t mean it’s a step down!

Rock & Roll Express, Road Warriors, Midnight Express, Arn & Tully, New Age Outlaws, etc., all drew BIG money! Tag Team Wrestling CAN be the main event; patting us on the back, I feel we’ve proven that a couple of times.”

Harwood has previously slammed Vince McMahon for his treatment of tag team wrestling in the WWE.

Speaking to WhatCulture Wrestling back in 2023, Harwood would claim that McMahon prioritised singles wrestling over the tag division.

“If you look back at wrestling, tag team wrestling in particular, anywhere between after the Hardys, Dudleys, and Edge and Christian, until just recently, there were no real tag teams because all he did was prioritize singles wrestling,” Harwood said.

“So the two wrestlers, the tag teams, would only do their stuff. They would tag in, one guy would do all his stuff, tag in, he’d do his stuff.

“So there was no tag team psychology. And then, two 5’10” Southerners came along in 2015, and we said ‘We would have no selfish ambition.

Let’s work together, let’s make the heat spots, the hope spots mean something, instead of it being a chin lock, three elbows, big huge, pretty move from a heel.’

It all depends, in that company, on one man. And if he does prioritize tag team wrestling, it will allow that whole genre to shoot up.” [h/t WrestlingInc]
