Carlito is reportedly set to return to WWE television within weeks.
The former Intercontinental Champion made a crowd-pleasing run-in at Backlash in Puerto Rico looking better than ever, sparking speculation that he could return to WWE full-time. While official confirmation was hard to come by, the man himself recently pulled out a number of independent bookings, citing a deal with WWE. This was followed by reports suggesting that a deal was all but confirmed.
It has now been reported by Mike Johnson via PWInsider Elite that the star has indeed signed with the company and will feature on the July 7th episode of SmackDown live from Madison Square Garden. This also seems to hint that he will be joining back up with the LWO.
Konnan Open To WWE Return With The LWO
While the LWO looks to be getting a new member in the form of Carlito, another Latin legend has admitted they would love to work with the group.
Konnan recently sat down with Nick Hausman for Inside The Ropes and discussed a whole range of topics, including potentially working with WWE. The former United States Champion inducted Rey Mysterio into the Hall of Fame back in March and his speech was a big hit backstage and with fans.
The man himself later revealed that he’d been talking with WWE before confirming with Inside The Ropes that he’d be open to working with Mysterio in the LWO. Konnan explained that his real-life history with the likes of Mysterio and Santos Escobar as well as others could make for great storylines.
