Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley are set for an AEW World Championship rematch at Revolution under a… unique stipulation: An Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch!
Moxley seemingly ended this week’s Dynamite on a high, pinning long-time rival Eddie Kingston with the Paradigm Shift to pick up the win for himself, Lance Archer and Rey Fenix over Kingston, The Butcher & The Blade. He would celebrate for just a moment before being set upon by The Good Brothers, soon to be joined by the AEW World Champion.
Omega would reveal that Moxley has a rematch clause for the AEW World Championship per a contract from Tony Khan, which he is choosing to oblige at Revolution, but announced that he’d make the stipulation – choosing the ultra-violent Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch stipulation!

So what is an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch, you may ask? Simply put, the ring ropes are replaced by barbed wire and they explode when a competitor runs into them. Some versions of this match type also feature weapons like baseball bats which also explode on impact, though it’s unclear whether Moxley and Omega’s latest bout will feature these.
Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega have a history of violent stipulations for their match-ups with the two competing in a Lights Out Unsanctioned match at Full Gear 2019. The two would use broken glass, barbed wire nets and mousetrap boards to punish each other like never before, but Moxley ultimately picked up the win after multiple Paradigm Shifts.
Several other matches were announced for AEW Revolution including Hangman Page vs Matt Hardy and a ‘Face Of The Revolution’ Triple Threat Ladder match for a chance to challenge for the TNT Championship!
