It has been reported that there will be no WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match on the WrestleMania 40 card.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer shed light on the absence of a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match on the WrestleMania 40 card, citing the current absence of any planned bout for the coveted titles. Meltzer’s report confirmed the notable absence of a women’s tag team title match from the current plans for the Showcase Of The Immortals. He explicitly stated:
There is right now no women’s tag team title match planned, but there is something with Damage Ctrl.
This revelation marks a conspicuous deviation from the typical inclusion of title matches on the biggest show of the year but it appears there are plans for Asuka and Kairi Sane to do something at WrestleMania with their fellow Damage Ctrl members.
Will The Rock Feature In More Matches After WrestleMania 40?
Dave Meltzer speculated that The Rock will feature in more matches following his tag team match with Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. Meltzer stated that it is likely The Rock will have more matches and they could take place at either a show in Saudi Arabia or the upcoming SummerSlam PLE.
