A WWE star has looked back on his WrestleMania debut opposite ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.
Two years after his in-ring retirement, Austin appeared at WrestleMania 21 on a special edition of Piper’s Pit with the legendary Roddy Piper. After the pair had slapped and insulted each other, Carlito joined the fray.
The star’s WrestleMania debut quickly went south when Piper spat an apple in his face. Carlito quickly went on the attack while Austin laughed at the scene, but the Bionic Redneck soon took exception to him and pulled him off Piper before dropping him with a Stunner. Piper then picked him up and threw him out of the ring before being met with a Stunner himself.
Speaking to Kenny McIntosh of ITRWrestling ahead of WrestleMania, looked back on the moment, claiming he saved the segment.
“Yeah it was great. I think I injured my shoulder or something, so I really couldn’t do much. So it was good little spot to be in. And you’re right, I think I saved that segment. Those guys were boring the people. and luckily, everything turned up when I came out.”
Steve Austin Addresses Possibility Of One More Match In WWE
Steve Austin has no interest in getting back in the ring. While The Texas Rattlesnake is happy to “whip some ass” when the situation calls for it, he says he’s moved past the idea of having one more match.
In a follow-up appearance at WrestleMania 41, Steve Austin crashed his ATV into the barrier.
