Exclusive: The Blue Meanie Shares Intriguing Theory About Brock Lesnar And Cody Rhodes

Brock Lesnar & Cody Rhodes - Blue Meanie Exclusive

Fresh off the back of being defeated by Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes headed to Raw looking for answers and maybe even a rematch.

What the star got instead was a vicious beatdown at the hands of Brock Lesnar, which has set up an increasingly violent rivalry between the pair. While the feud has taken a prominent position on television and has seen Rhodes retain his incredible popularity, fans have been left scratching their heads.

Why did Lesnar attack Rhodes just hours after agreeing to team with him in an effort to take down Reigns?

Theories about The Beast’s motivations are everywhere, but former ECW star The Blue Meanie believes he has the answer. Speaking exclusively to Nick Hausman for Inside The Ropes, the veteran said that he initially wanted Rhodes to win at WrestleMania, but that story has now transitioned into Lesnar preparing him to face Reigns again.

“At the time, I was like, wanting Cody to win because if he just listened to that crowd, sometimes the crowd tells you when the right time. But, I’m gonna go into the Brock thing too. I think this is going to go lead up to all the way up to the next WrestleMania.

I think this thing with Brock. I think ultimately, in my opinion, armchair booker, I’m sitting here thinking that this whole Brock thing is him toughening up Cody to beat Roman. It’s like a tough love kind of thing, where he turned on Cody, he’s gonna beat up Cody. So when Cody is done fighting him, he’ll be ready to beat Roman.”

Meanie pointed to the fact that in storyline, Lesnar can’t challenge Reigns again for the World Championship, so instead, he’s taken it upon himself to turn Rhodes into the wrestler he needs to be to take down his rival.

“But I think this whole Brock thing, Brock and Cody, because they never said why Brock just turned on Cody like that. I think, eventually in my mind, and if somebody in creative’s watching, have it come out that Brock did it as tough love because Brock ‘legally’ isn’t allowed to challenge for the title anymore. So what better revenge for Brock on Roman to prepare Cody to beat Roman for the belt?”

Cody Rhodes Down But Not Out Following Latest Battle With Brock Lesnar

At Clash of Champions, Cody Rhodes lost out to Brock Lesnar, passing out in the Kimura Lock, but not before giving the former UFC star the fight of his life, broken arm and all. On the following episode of Raw, the American Nightmare addressed the match and questioned whether Lesnar could really walk away knowing they hold one win each over the other.

The segment ended with Rhodes laying down a challenge to Lesnar for whenever they next cross paths.
