Exclusive: Saraya Confident ‘Underestimated’ AEW Will Make History At Wembley Stadium

Saraya is confident that AEW All In will be a huge success as the company makes it’s UK debut at a packed Wembley Stadium on August 27th.

The hotly anticipated show has already sold upwards of 75,000 tickets without a single bout yet announced for the card. The former WWE Divas Champion admitted her initial surprise at the choice of venue but believes that the shows popularity is due to fans travelling from across Europe and the USA to be in attendance.

Speaking in an exclusive new interview with Kenny McIntosh for Inside The Ropes, Saraya noted that the upcoming show was AEW’s equivalent of WrestleMania and is in no doubt that the fans in attendance will create an incredible atmosphere:

“So we knew it was going to be happening, that we’re going to go to the UK, we didn’t know what the building was going to be, we just thought it was going to be like maybe the o2 or something like that, you know, a regular wrestling show.

So when we heard about Wembley, I was one of the people that said it will sell out, I was like you don’t understand the Brits. They’re very passionate. Even if they don’t like wrestling, they’ll turn up. Because they love a good atmosphere, they love a good time.

And then also a stones throw away is Europe, it is right around the corner, literally just a fly or the tunnel away and you’re in France or whatever. You know, like the surrounding countries, it is so close and the flights are so cheap. They have Ryanair over in Europe, which is one of the cheapest airlines you can get.

And then, you know, people from America will probably fly over because I always say this is AEW’s WrestleMania. It’s a 90,000 seat stadium. And we’ve already done like, what over 70? Pretty much, right? And that’s without announcing one match”.

Saraya Believes AEW Are Underestimated

Saraya, who debuted on AEW television in September 2022, believes that AEW has been underestimated to this point and believes that it is a good thing for the industry that wrestlers have another platform to showcase their talents:

“People underestimate AEW so much. And that’s what makes the company so special. It is classed as an underdog all the time, they never thought they would sell out an arena and look at them doing it nearly every week, right? So I’m just like, don’t underestimate an underdog because they always come out on top. And people have to really start paying attention more to AEW.

They (fans) should just be happy that there’s a platform for wrestlers that can earn a living and do what they love and be on TV. And if God forbid anyone gets fired from WWE, they have a home somewhere else. You don’t have to dread anything anymore.”

The Norwich born Superstar will perform in the UK for the first time in many years and described her excitement at the prospect of a raucous atmosphere at Wembley Stadium:

“You know, I just think it’s a very special time in wrestling. I just feel so fortunate to be a part of AEW and making history and just, you know, doing our first ever stadium show the first time in the UK and we were just like go big or go home and we definitely went big and it’s a success. And that’s really awesome. And it’s in front of my home country with my home countrymen and it’s just such a special moment.

I haven’t wrestled in the UK in like, seven, eight years or something like that. So it’s definitely a big homecoming for me, selfishly, you know, and I’m just so excited to be a part of it, it’s awesome.

People that haven’t wrestled in front of a UK crowd before, they’re gonna be shocked because they’ll be cheering and screaming the whole entire time.

You get a couple of Fosters down their neck. They’ll be going off right? They’ll be chanting and all these different things. They’ll be singing all the theme tunes, Brits just know how to have a good time. So I’m really excited.”
