Some of Rob Van Dam’s wrestling history came full-circle last Saturday at AEW Collision and that’s in part to teaming with Hook.
Wrestling fans were excited to hear that Rob Van Dam would be returning to AEW after making his debut against Jack Perry in August and he did so in legendary fashion as RVD tagged up with Hook to face Matt Menard and Angelo Parker. Hook notoriously is the son of Taz, who Van Dam has a history with and the two came out with the victory against Parker and Menard.
Inside The Ropes recieved an exclusive courtesy of the upcoming episode of “1 Of A Kind With RVD” where Van Dam shares his experience teaming with Hook and also notes of the historical significance them both teaming together in Grand Rapids, MI, which happens to be Rob Van Dam’s home state.
“The guys were really cool that we worked with and Hook, really cool dude, good energy. I heard a bunch of times that day after I heard it the first time, Taz and I teamed in that same building, the Van Andel Arena, 25 years earlier. So a full-circle moment for the Taz family and RVD, I guess. So, pretty cool piece of history.”
RVD also added that he loved that everyone caught the moment of himself posing as Taz alongside Hook who couldn’t help but crack a smile.

Would Rob Van Dam Team With Hook Again?
Later on in the episode, Rob Van Dam answered a fan question as to if he would be willing to take Hook on as an apprentice and teach him the extreme ways of ECW. RVD, always a businessman, first asked, “What’s it pay,” and then did say he’d be game for such a venture.
“Sure, sure I’d be interested in that. I just need a little more info on the facts of the J-O-B.”
On the media call for AEW WrestleDream Tony Khan said that he’d love to have RVD back in AEW in the near future.
