Liv Morgan has given some rare words of praise to former WWE rival Becky Lynch.
After taking out Rhea Ripley to officially kick off the revenge tour, Morgan set her sights on the Women’s World Championship as part of the next phase. Although Lynch would become the new champion following Ripley relinquishing the title due to injury, Morgan would have the last laugh.
Challenging Lynch for the title at King and Queen of the Ring, an assist from Dominik Mysterio allowed Morgan to capitalise, pin Lynch and become a 2-time Women’s Champion.
2 days later on Raw, Morgan was able to defeat Lynch again, this time in a steel cage. Thanks to more inadvertent interference from Mysterio, Morgan was able to escape the cage and retain the title in what is Lynch’s final WWE match to date.
While it remains unknown if or when Lynch will make her return to professional wrestling, Morgan stated that her former rival will go down as one of the all-time greats in women’s wrestling.
“Becky Lynch Is 100% A Hall Of Famer”: Liv Morgan
Speaking with Kenny McIntosh for Inside The Ropes Magazine, Morgan praised Lynch for all that she has accomplished both inside and outside of the ring, but reminded the fans who the better competitor is:
“I think if Becky never comes back, I definitely think she is 100% a Hall of Famer. She has become a martyr for women’s wrestling and performance all around. She can do it all. She can deliver in the ring, she can deliver on the microphone. The crowd is compelled by her when she’s out there, not to mention what she stands for in women’s wrestling.
Her goal, I think, was to really evolve it and maximise women’s wrestling and really make women’s wrestling feel just as special and important as the men’s wrestling, and she did it all while being a fantastic brand-new mummy. But with all that, she’s still not as great as me. (laughs)”
