Liv Morgan wishes that one WWE storyline did not end as abruptly and could have been explored more.
Throughout the summer of 2024, Morgan looked to take advantage of Rhea Ripley’s absence in a huge way. Having already won the Women’s World Championship from Becky Lynch, Morgan looked to make things even more personal by stealing Dominik Mysterio away from Mami.
Following weeks of temptation, Mysterio finally made his choice at SummerSlam. After Morgan retained the title yet again thanks to an “accidental” interference from Mysterio, the champion and “Dirty” Dom sealed their alliance with a kiss as a heartbroken Ripley looked on. While Ripley was shocked by what just happened, attempting to break up pro wrestling couples is something Morgan has some experience with.
In late 2019, a storyline played out on Raw which saw Lana leave her husband Rusev for Bobby Lashley. Looking to make the relationship official, Lana and Lashley were set to tie the knot on Raw. However, as fans are well aware, wrestling weddings rarely go to plan.
In a shocking twist, Morgan objected to the wedding, stating that “the love of her life” was in the ring. While Lashley denied the relationship, Morgan revealed that her admirer was actually Lana. The wedding then descended into chaos as Lana and Morgan brawled shortly followed by Rusev bursting out of a giant cake and brawling with Lashley.
Liv Morgan Looks Back On ICONIC Moment
Speaking with Kenny McIntosh for Issue 51 of Inside The Ropes Magazine, Morgan stated that she looks back very fondly on the wedding crasher segment:
ICONIC! One of my finer moments, top five.
While the segment was memorable, it was quickly dropped and never brought up again. When asked if there were any long-term plans, Morgan stated that she was not aware of what was going to happen next but wished that there was a follow-up:
I have no idea. Genuinely, I really don’t know. I just knew that for the first time in my life I was going to object to a wedding. So I was really in it for the ride. I had no idea. I wish we’d done more with it.
Also in the interview, Liv Morgan spoke about her surreal match against Trish Stratus.
Additionally, Liv Morgan also looked back on her time in The Riott Squad.
