Exclusive: Bayley Responds To Ronda Rousey’s Comments About WWE Women’s Division

Bayley has let her feelings be known about Ronda Rousey’s criticism of the WWE Women’s Tag Team division.

Rousey, who was Tag Team Champion at the time alongside Shayna Baszler, came under fire for her comments about the “lack of competition” and the field being “dismally shallow.”

Inaugural Tag Team Champion Bayley was interviewed by Inside The Ropes for the July issue of the magazine while at Money in the Bank. The leader of Damage CTRL would state that if Rousey wants to see the division elevated, then she too would have to put the work in:

If she wants more then Ronda should do more. I’m tired of her saying she wants more, come out here and do it. Let me see. Do I see Ronda Rousey out here doing interviews? No, I see Shayna Baszler. I don’t see Ronda Rousey. I’m here, I have a match at Money in the Bank. I’m gonna climb a freakin’ ladder, you know? Where is she?

At Money in the Bank, Baszler would attack Rousey, causing the duo to lose the titles. Baszler would later explain her actions were due to being tired of always being in the shadow of the former UFC Champion. A MMA rules match would take place at SummerSlam, with Baszler defeating Rousey in what was potentially Rousey’s final match in WWE.

Did Bayley Wrestle At WWE SummerSlam?

The former Women’s Champion made an unannounced appearance following the conclusion of the Triple Threat match between Asuka, Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair, who pinned The Empress to capture the title following an injury sustained earlier on in the match.

Shortly after the match, Iyo Sky and Bayley would run down to the ring, with Sky carrying the Money in the Bank briefcase. The duo would take out Asuka and Flair before targeting the new champion. Sky would attack the injured leg of The EST before hitting a Moonsault to become the new champion.
