Andrade was moved to the alumni section on WWE’s official website on Saturday.
One year after a promising comeback, Andrade has reportedly been let go, marking his second departure from the sports entertainment capital. He was previously signed with AEW.
As per shocking new reports, the former WWE United States Champion’s exit was not due to budget cuts, but a bigger problem. The Takedown on SI has confirmed veteran journalist Dave Meltzer’s recent report on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Andrade was facing disciplinary action.
Andrade Was Reportedly Let Go Due To WWE’s Wellness Policy Violation
WWE cut ties with Andrade owing to at least one Wellness Policy violation. It was reported that he was suspended without pay because of this, although it was not clear whether he tested positive for a banned substance or if it was something else.
The Takedown on SI also revealed in its report that Andrade was told to leave a taping last month and was escorted out of the building.
A high-level source asserted this dismissal from the building was in relation to his most recent suspension, and that it affected major creative plans for his tag team with Rey Fenix,” reported The Takedown.
Another report noted that Andrade was not reachable for several weeks, and this also played a factor in his being moved to WWE’s alumni section.
This was not Andrade’s first violation, as he was also suspended during his first run. WWE announced this in January of 2020, which led to a 30-day suspension. One year later, he jumped ship to AEW and stayed there till December 2023.
At the time of this writing, Andrade’s final match for the Stamford-based promotion was at SummerSlam 2025, where he teamed up with Rey Fenix in a losing effort as the two competed in a Six-Pack TLC match for the WWE Tag Team Titles. It remains to be seen if the former United States Champion gets another opportunity at the sports entertainment capital.
As for Rey Fenix, he was featured on SmackDown this past Friday as a solo star. He unsuccessfully challenged Sami Zayn for the US Championship.
