This recently released WWE star has been teased for a future MLW show.
Earlier this year, ahead of the 7th February episode of SmackDown, WWE released multiple talents. Similarly, later, before the May 2nd, 2025, edition of SmackDown, Fightful Select again reported the departure of several talents.
Amongst the 17 released stars were several former champions and some top stars, including Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, Cora Jade, and many more. While, these talents were released by the promotion, popular NXT star Shotzi’s contract was not further renewed.
Recently, during an MLW Azteca Lucha broadcast, a vignette aired about the “Summer of the Beasts” event on June 26 from NYC’s Melrose Ballroom. The vignette teased Shotzi’s arrival with on-screen text and a tank graphic declaring: “June 26. Hearts Turn Black. The Warning SHOTZ Will Be Fired.”
More updates from Fightful Select noted that she is heavily implied to be on the June 26th show, as well as be on a few more in the future. The reason behind Shotzi being able to take bookings so quickly is that her contract is expiring as opposed to the standard 90-day no compete clause. According to MLPW sources, Shotzi vs. Shoko Nakajima is a big match the promotion wants to build to.
This aligns with the former NXT Women’s Tag-Team Champion’s assurance to her fans that they will be seeing her soon. With her contract ending, Shotzi will become a free agent later this year.
Fans are now eager to see Shotzi wrestle again and unleash her terror in a completely new environment.
Cora Jade’s First Match Following WWE Release Announced
In a recent report by Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, Cora Jade, now known as Elayna Black, is set to make her debut for Atomic Legacy Wrestling in Daytona Beach, Florida, on July 27th.
