According to a new report, former WWE star Scotty 2 Hotty worked on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite.
It’s been reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, that the former WWE Superstar – real name Scott Garland — was present in Albany, New York for the July 26th episode of Dynamite. The Attitude Era star is said to be having a try-out for a role as a coach/producer. He’s expected to be present at tapings for the next “several weeks.”
AEW has made a number of changes to their backroom team in recent weeks with Bryan Danielson taking an increased role in creative, while Orange Cassidy is working as a producer.
When Did Scotty 2 Hotty Work For WWE?
Scotty 2 Hotty first appeared for WWE in October 1991 and wrestled occasionally as an enhancement talent until signing with the company on a permanent basis in 1997. He initially wrestled in the lightweight division before teaming with Bryan Christopher as Too Much at WrestleMania XIV.
The duo later partnered with Rikishi as Too Cool and became one of the most popular acts in the Attitude Era.
After leaving WWE he continued to make sporadic appearances for the company while also competing on the independent scene. He later returned to WWE in September 2016 as a coach, working in NXT.
Scotty 2 Hotty asked for his release in November 2021, and it was eventually granted.
