Ex-WWE Star Revealed As The Name Behind Mercedes Mone’s Big Collaboration

WWE AEW Mercedes Mone making entrance on AEW Dynamite

A former WWE star’s role behind one of Mercedes Mone’s big collaborations has come to light.

Following her WWE departure in 2022, Mercedes Mone, fka Sasha Banks, emerged as one of the most wanted stars in the industry. Following her successful stint in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Mone officially joined Tony Khan’s AEW roster last year.

Last month, the TBS Champion was announced as a special part of a collaboration with Crunchyroll. Now, almost a month later, the person behind Mone’s big partnership has been revealed.

Ex-WWE star Mojo Rawley (aka Dean Muhtadi), also the co-founder of Paragon Talent Agency, has opened up about establishing the partnership. Sharing the story on Instagram, he wrote:

Two years ago, we at @weareparagontalent started work on a @MercedesMone collaboration with @Crunchyroll. The idea was to create a partnership that would allow her fan base to share her love of anime in a tangible way. Paragon and Crunchyroll worked tirelessly to create a structure that saw me and @stevenmkaye bring Mercedes to the Anime Awards in Tokyo last year to partake in the festivities, provide a marketing amplification, and also share this awesome new merch line with you all.

Two years later, it is really cool to see this all finally come to fruition. Thank you to #Crunchyroll for being amazing partners, to Mercedes for going above and beyond every step of the way, and to all the fans that have supported this campaign!!!”

This collaboration presents a diverse array of merchandise showcasing Mone’s representation as an anime character. The reversible kimono jacket is priced between $13.49 and $179.99, while sweatshirts and hoodies range between $69.99 and $99.99.

WWE Star Tonga Loa’s Vital Role Revealed In Mercedes Mone’s Career

Recently speaking on The Marking Out podcast, Mercedes Mone revealed former Bullet Club and current MFT member Tonga Loa’s help in getting her NJPW run.

We just talked wrestling cause he was in New Japan at the time. And I’m like, ‘Man, I’ve always wanted to go to New Japan.’ And he’s like, ‘You know what? Let me contact you with Rocky.’ I messaged Rocky right away. I texted him like, ‘Hey, I’m really interested in joining New Japan.’ He’s like, ‘Well, sh*t. Okay. Absolutely. Let’s just get it going.’ And just from that text message, just two months later, I signed a contract with New Japan.”
