Ex-WWE Star Recently Broke Record Previously Held By Seth Rollins And Natalya

A former WWE star has set a new company record, surpassing Seth Rollins and Natalya in the process.

On the February 4th edition of NXT, Fandango made his surprise return to the promotion to interrupt Heritage Cup Champion Lexis King. Now signed to TNA and known as JDC, the former NXT Tag Team Champion looked to become the first contracted TNA star to win NXT gold as he challenged King for the cup the following week. Although JDC was unsuccessful in winning the title, he did accomplish a rare achievement in the process.

As pointed out by social media account WWEStats, JDC now has the longest gap between his first and most recent championship matches inside an NXT ring with 12 years and 2 months between the matches:

Longest time gap between a Superstar’s first title match in a NXT ring and most recent title match in #WWENXT

– 12 years, 2 months: Fandango/JDC
– 11 years, 1 month: Natalya
– 10 years, 10 months: Seth Rollins

JDC’s first title match in an NXT ring took place back in October 2012 when he and Michael McGillicutty challenged Kane and Daniel Bryan for the Tag Team Championships.

Natalya challenged Kaitlin for the Divas Championship in February 2013 and Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s title in April 2024. Rollins became the inaugural NXT Champion in July 2012 and put his World Championship on the line against Bron Breakker in June 2023.
