Ex-WWE Star Recalls Drunken Night With John Cena Following Memorable Debut

WWE Hall Of Famer Remembers Their First Meeting With John Cena

An ex-WWE star has recalled his drunk experience with John Cena.

A full-time Hollywood star, Cena is set to return for his upcoming retirement tour on the January 6th episode of Raw’s Netflix premiere. In the industry for nearly two decades now, Cena has left behind a lasting impression. Be it championship wins, title reigns, or fond memories with his colleagues.

Retired wrestler and an ex-WWE star, Mason Ryan, recently recalled one of his fondest memories with the Peacemaker star. Speaking with Metro UK, Ryan opened up on a drunken memory he had with Cena, after his main roster debut in 2012.

‘I was probably on an adrenaline high, cloud nine, my feet didn’t touch the floor. I just threw my clothes quickly after showering and left my bags there because I just thought I’m just going to see John, and he’s going to say congratulations, or welcome to the team, or something like that.”

Laying out Cena on his first night, Ryan had joined CM Punk (his leader at New Nexus) backstage, when Cena’s driver approached Ryan and left him an invitation to The Leader of Cenation’s private bus.

So I hop on the bus and he says, “Hey, take a seat”. And then he started bringing out some drinks. I’m thinking, “Okay, we’re going to have a beer or two. Then after an hour, he starts bringing out the whiskey. And then he starts bringing out the moonshine.”

Continuing further on the incident, Ryan claimed that while he was getting and wanted to leave, Cena asked him to not worry.

‘Cena said, “Oh, don’t worry!” I had a connection, and the connection was only an hour away or so. We got my bags and instead of catching the first flight, we drove to wherever that that that second flight would be.

And I’ll be honest, he got me pretty drunk! At one point, we were drinking a beer, a shot of whiskey, and then and washing it down with a moonshine. So it was quite the blur! That was one of the craziest things about that [debut], getting hammered on John Cena’s bus that night.

And then he said I got up to go to the bathroom, and he saw me nearly fall over.”

In 2014, after a couple of years in NXT, the Stamford-based promotion released Ryan. He is now a part of the KÀ by Cirque du Soleil cast in Las Vegas.
