Sami Callihan recently delved into his experience portraying a hacker-esque character during his time in WWE NXT. Callihan revealed that WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H‘ Levesque advised him to veer away from the hacker persona, emphasising that it did not align with his character.
Despite this guidance, Callihan expressed that the writing team persisted in crafting hacker-themed material for him in an interview with “Wrestling is Life is Wrestling with Cody Deaner“.
They debut me with the hacker character with just the vignettes. I attack Juice (Robinson) and I cut a promo and then Triple H yells at me, ‘You’re not a hacker. Quit cutting hacker promos.’ But the writers were writing me hacker promos.
Calihan further explained that he was not supposed to continue with the hacker gimmick after his debut as that was just supposed to be a cool way to introduce him but that the writing staff kept writing hacker material for his character.
I was told, ‘This is just a cool way to debut you. You’re not a hacker. It’s just like Jericho’s Save Us Y2J. You’re not a hacker,’ but they keep writing that, keep writing that, keep writing that.
What Did Triple H Say About Damian Priest’s Botch At WWE Money In The Bank?
Triple H was sympathetic towards Damian Priest for not kicking out of a pinfall at WWE Money in the Bank stating that “mistakes happen” and that he knows if it was him in that position it would be all that he could think about after the match despite how the match was.
