A former WWE Superstar and current IMPACT Wrestling personality has announced they will no longer be taking bookings to compete in the ring.

Matthew Rehwoldt currently appears at the announce table on IMPACT Wrestling but fans of WWE will know him best as Aiden English, one-half of The Vaudevillains tag teams.

Aiden English and Simon Gotch had their most memorable run as a tag team as part of NXT where they became Tag Team Champions on the black and gold brand at the culmination of a memorable feud with Blake and Murphy.

The Vaudevillains only held the title for two months before falling victim to a certain team that is Forever The Revival, who earned the first of their seven stars by defeating Gotch and English. As Aiden English, Rehwoldt also had a memorable run on the WWE main roster with Rusev as “Rusev Day” fever swept the WWE Universe. Rehwoldt was released by the company in April 2020.

Since July 2021, Matthew Rehwoldt has been a part of IMPACT Wrestling where he has since joined the broadcast team as a regular colour commentator.

Rehwoldt took to social media to announce that he will no longer be taking bookings as a wrestler and says he’s unsure if “I feel I belong in the ring anymore”:

“So here you go: I will no longer be taking bookings to wrestle going forward. I’ve always been most at home with a mic in front of me and am in love with the broadcast side of the biz. I’m not sure I feel I belong in the ring anymore and this year has taught me that.”

“But I love what I’m doing now and am still technically a free agent so if you have a company/promotion that needs an entertaining and experienced voice on the mic hit me up! All in addition to continuing to explore esports/gaming, VO, and content! I DO ALL THE THINGS!”
